wafer paper flower

Hi Bonnie,  I wasn't trying to make it like any real flower to be honest.  This one was more for experimentation with coloring.  Then when I decided to put the petals together, I figured making the center like that would give the illusion of a real flower. 

First, let me say 'Hi Goreti!'  I have been busy & have a lot of catching up to do.  And I always start with the first pic on the board, and work my way backwards.  That in itself explains a lot about how my head works. lol 

This flower has a lovely soft color, and is nice and full, and it does look familiar, and that is coming from someone that can only put a name to a 'rose'!  It does look familiar, I just can't place it, so put me out of my misery, by telling me what it is.  Please! 

It's paper..., and one can only do so much with it.   Of all the flowers I have seen done using this medium, NONE have pretended to look like gumpaste...., but you can make some very cute, and even expressive flowers with wafer paper, as long as you look at them as fantasy flowers, then they usually actually look very good, in that light!  IMO, for what it's worth, so there!  lol

Oh good grief!  Are all men the same then?  Although, to be fair, Mick never 'criticizes'  per se, but I can always tell when he's not impressed lol!

Oh, good grief - men can be overly sensitive.  Be sure and not tell him how much fun we have had at his expense this morning :o)

I have actually told him that when he was pointing on some faults.  Told him "I'll tell you what, let me give you a piece of gumpaste and see if you can do better".  He was actually a little offended and told me he would no longer give me his opinion.

Better yet, Goreti, hand him a lump of gum paste!

Can you imagine?  You know how the wafer paper cracks so easily.  He would probably use up an entire sheet to get one petal.  lol
