Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

With soft lemon cake inside that was a bit challenging and heavy. But the fittings and pvc pipe I used made the stand quite sturdy.

Wendy, I had a hardware shop cut me a piece of pressed wood to size, and from a home/paints-shop I got a fitting the same as my pvc pipe that I was able to mount on the board with screws (no need to drill holes as the screw goes easily into the pressed wood. Then I used a pvc adaptor, shaped like a T and used screws to fasten it to the cake board. Maybe I should share a picture of the stand?

absolutely beautiful job! Curious as to how you got the wagon to appear off the ground (except wheels), you mentioned a pvc stand? I did a few vehicles and had trouble with that, also, I had wheels and my wheels went flat (too soft) so I put "dirt" around them to hide it lol.

Thanks for the nice compliments. I had to make this cake and the helicopter on the same day, so I had little sleep last week. Lucily I had friends to help and a great collegue that do the baking. I had trouble to get the wheels to stick with edible glue, but then I tried melted chocolate and that worked wonderful.
