Vampire Diaries Cake
This is a Vampire Diaries cake I made for a co-worker's daughter as a gift. She LOVES the show The Vampire Diaries. :) Cake is red velvet with cream cheese icing, covered in marshmallow fondant. Photos are printed edible ink frosting sheets. Borders and blood drips are royal icing. Roses are my first ever gum paste roses! I really am enjoying making flowers! Did some "blood" splatters around the cake on the cake board.

Thank you!!! I'd say the class is a great start! After I started making cakes and found that I loved it, I took some classes at a local cake shop (Cake Carousel). Being an artist, when I first started making cakes I started with sculpted cakes. I knew nothing about the basics and the classes REALLY helped! I learned SO much, and I learn a lot with every cake I make.

I am new to this site and everyone is so very talented! I fell in love with this cake because at 40 I too like this show! lol You did such a wonderful job here! I am going to start a class given by a craft store in Chattanooga that is by Wilton's. I so hope I am half as talented as you are!
