Unchained Melody
Mike's and my 17th anniversary cake, wedding date February 26, 1999. The covering is fondant, the portrait (replicated from our wedding album) painted with edible petal dusts and artist's soft pastels on fondant, the flowers made of gum paste. Unchained Melody, the song used as our wedding march, is written in gold on the lower left corner of the bottom tier.

No, I can't really work on anything like this without Mike seeing it, but it was intended to show him how important he is to me. The part that took the longest was the gold sequined divider. It was my first time and I put too many sprinkles and couldn't find anything that would cover their bright color. I already had the red roses and just painted their foliage gold.
