Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

i designed this toolbox cake for my husband's 50th birthday. I had to get out his tools and his toolbox in order to get it just right. This is an 1/2 sheet cake cut in half, then in quarters, iced, stacked and covered with red fondant(i mixed 50/50 modeling chocolate and marshmallow fondant to give a more vibrant color of red. some of the tools are from a chocolate mold, some i had to mold by hand using gumpaste.

Why am i nto surprised by that. It would be heartbreaking to cut some of the cakes you make. They're like art.
