Capelli 32

Made as a 'salon-warming' gift for my hairdresser of 10 years who has just opened her own salon, called Capelli 32.
Devils Food chocolate cake filled with chocolate fudge smbc (first attempt at smbc, more of that on another day). Covered in the palest of pink fondant and decorated in black fondant lace. Hand-painted picture using Edible Art Midnight powder mixed with vodka, Sugarflair flourescent white mixed with a tad of midnight and lips in Red Edible Pen.

They have made an album of photos of the salon from start to finish (it was a run down, decrepit bakers before they took it over). Lindsey took a photo of it straight away and is going to put it in the 'after' section of the album. Then we got stuck in to it - insisted I have a piece before I left and it tasted really good too!

Yes I did freehand the face. I had a picture that I like from the internet and roughly copied it. Drew it out very lightly first with edible pen and then filled with the paint.
