Mandy did you add a touch of tylose to your fondant? Helps the strips dry stiff. I've done a couple, and honestly, other than time consuming, I never had any trouble. Your strips should be fairly thin, or else the weight will be a issue. Did you use gum glue to attach?? I found water, or corn syrup, wasn't strong enough. Gum glue, or a thinned royal icing really makes the ruffle border stick very well. Hope this helps.

Hello Shirley,

I have only have done this one and it was a challange to do, I found it difficult to keep the frills up and had toothpicks and pins around it to keep the frills from falling over as I worked my way down.

I think I didn't make my strips of fondant wide enough , and so I had many rows to do to cover the cake but its all a learning thing but if you have any suggestions in this area then please feel free to share any secrets u may have as I would appreciate it
