Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

My granddaughter Jade and I spent the whole day baking Christmas cookies. I'm sick of cookies.

Thank you Goreti! I do have one very favorite. It is the thumbprints done with green and red frosting. It's pretty easy to make but kind of messy. It takes 1/4 real butter, 1/4 Crisco, 1/4 brown sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 egg yolk (save white for later in recipe) 1 cup flour, 1/4 tsp. salt. Mix all of these together, then form into very small balls, no more than a measuring teaspoon, then roll them into egg white that has been broken up with a tablespoon of water and a fork, and roll them into chopped pecans. Place on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet, press a finger or thumb into the center and bake for approx 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees. Let cool and then decorate with your favorite butter cream icing. They are so good.

They look so good Linda.  Do you have some favorite recipe that you could share?  I'm thinking of making some and bringing in to a nursing home for residents without any family.  I'm not big on cookie baking so don't really have too many recipes.
