Well Tania

I was fortunate enough to have about 45 min to set up before guests arrived for dinner. After pictures,  we raced home, quick change from day outfit to night, 20 min..... out the door... off to the hall, which thankfully was only 15 min away. I took the cake in sections and set it up there. Didn't know about dowels in the cake back then, that would have saved me time. But the funniest story from all this is that my daughter didn't like the 2 rows of piping on the 2nd tier I did. I was inexperienced,  and my cake board was showing, hence, 2 rows of piping. She wants it fixed. SOoooo, I have like 10 min before guests arrive, I remove the fake top tieir, lift off the 2nd, plop it down WITHOUT the cake board, cause it's not like I have a extra one in my purse..... put  tiers back on, re-pipe.  So when the staff cut the cut.... it imploded into itself.  I knew that was going to happen. The poor kitchen staff thought they did something wrong!!!   I had made 3 large slab cakes to be used for dessert, so the head table ate that as the wedding cake was a mess...... hee hee       Took several months before I told my daughter what happened & she didn't actually eat any of her "real" wedding cake.  That will be 6 yrs this July.... we have a good chuckle about that now........  :o)

Yeah...I had exactly 15 minutes to go from jeans to hair done, face done, dress on.  My son was bringing the cake as my vehicle wouldn't hold it...i was panicking to say the least because it wasn't there on time. I am now an official quick change artist!
