Ordered by a man for his mom's birthday. Mom was in tears when she saw the cake. It moved me when I heard that.

Hi,
For the teapot I made 2 cakes using one round and one spherical backing pan, both 20cm.
I cut both cakes in layers and filled it with buttercreme. Put the spherical cake on top of the round cake and cut it more in shape. The best way to shape cake is to put in the fridge for half an hour or so. Flatten top a bit for the lid. Cover it with marzipan or fondant.
The lid, the handle and the spout are made of marzipan. Make it a couple of days before to let it harden. Stick toothpicks at the ends of the handle and spout where it will be fixed to the teapot and where it need support to prevent it comes loose. Be sure the supportive sticks are out of sight.
Better is to use rice crispy for the handle and spout instead of marzipan as it's lighter material.
Good luck.
Hi there,
I have to make a teapot cake...could you tell me how I can go about doing so? what was your technique?
