I entered this cake in my county fair in 2010. Square base is fondant covered with royal icing texturing in 3 shades of green. Border is gumpaste peanuts and piped royal icing grass. The glove is hand-carved from pound cake and fondant covered, shaded with cocoa. The bases, tiny bat and ball are all made of gumpaste. The sides read "Take me out to the fair".

Well done! Your stitching look so real!

Thanks, Sean and vee! The stitching is all illusion. I made fairly deep indents in my fondant with a small ball tool; I cut strips of matching fondant and pushed them into the spaces with a small pallett knife and then shaded the spots with cocoa to add more depth.

I was so pleased that this cake made it into the op 10 :)!

This cake is very nice and the stitching is very well done.

Great job! I'm particularly impressed with the stitching.
