Chocolate vegan cake with 2 tone green vegan icing. Tried a new icing recipe & should have stuck to my original go to vegan one. This icing never crusted, so I had to repeatedly place in freezer between applications. Piping ruffle was a nightmare as icing wouldn't stay firm and I had to put bag in freezer also. GRrrrrrr

Oh that's so sad June - and so disappointing for you and Sam. Life just aint fair sometimes. You go to a lot of trouble to please someone and it all blows up in your face. I must say, I think you're taking it very well. All that said - I can't wait to see the disaster too!!!!!!!!!!!
She saw the pic here on CWB Linda. I will post a pic of the disaster. The icing was "off", so we through the cake out. Personaly, I think the coconut oil was starting to go bad. I think the heat in the car made the icing rancid!! I have always used 1 part earth balance and 1 part shortening & it always has turned out. Oh well......lessons learned.
