This gluten free cake re-captures the fun of grammar school science class. Shown here before the pyrotechnics were set into the cake and before the dry ice was added to the working volcano. In addition to the smoke and fire, warm raspberry erupted from the volcano. The cake is more fun watched on youtube and thrilled party guests from age 3 to 70!

Yes, what a feeling that is, good for you! Thanks for the answer.
I did my science geek research but that is it. So no actual trail runs - only theory. I was concerned about what to use as the "core" of the volcano. I knew it had to deal with extreme changes in temp. I needed something tall and narrow with a completely sealed bottom. I did a little research on the pyrotechnics which I ran by someone I knew with a lot of experience in that area. I felt like I had my bases covered and then I winged it!
The cake I've been making lately seem to push me to the point of pushing me to stretch myself beyond my comfort zone. It makes for some frazzled nerves leading up to the delivery, but also has resulted in a huge boost in confidence :-)
Me like Tiki. Did you do a trial run with a different cake or do you do this kind of thing alot?
