Stained glass design. I must have been crazy to try this one out. Stickiest mess I have ever worked with. Bottom tier is 12", middle tier is 8". and top tier is 5". All tiers are covered in fondant, then black royal icing was used to do all of the outline work to give it a raised design, then I used piping gel to fill in all of the 'glass' areas. Took me 3 days to finish. Thanks for looking!

Actually June, our confection show is in September in our area and I have never ever entered any competitions before (other than the one here for the beach theme) and it's one of those 'if you are gonna do it, now is the time' moments. So, it's a dummy. I found over in the 90% clearance isle at a Hobby Lobby store the other day a candle stick that was only $2.50 (had been $25.00) that I just bought and thought I would try my hand at a Tiffany Lamp. I have enough piping gel to choke a horse, so I really need to use it. hahaha

This looks amazing.  But,  not surprised it took so long.  Was this for "fun", or for a paying customer?  If they paid, hope it was a whole bunch of money!!!

awww, thank you Nancy! Actually, I'm a baby-sitting grandma, so my time is limited, not to mention my grandchildren want to eat the cakes and I don't want them to. You are right about doing what I love most....being brave is only because I limited myself for years to just doing butter cream out of being intimidated by fondant and gum paste. Now, I'm old and if I'm ever gonna do it, by golly, it had better be now. lol

You are a brave decorator with lots of time to do what you enjoy most.  Too much of an undertaking for most incuding myself.  Beyond beautiful.           Sue

Super cool!  Looks really great.  Even though it sounds agonizing, it's tempting me to try it.  :)  Thanks for the inspiration!
