Chocolate sour cream cake with buttercream & chocolate chip filling. Covered in yellow fondant. Cornflower blue royal icing piping with cornflower blue fondant pearls & filigrees.
Nephew is an artist & I took his design from a t-shirt I bought with this design on it. Had some difficulty as this was a little tricky & intricate. His logo is "Lovesick", which you can see at the bottom. Wasn't happy how logo turned out..

Actually Anne
Once I got started it was easy. Should have posted the actually pic I copied it from. Made 3 mistakes.
1. Should have used royal icing, and it should it have been a dark colour.
2. Shouldn't have tried to "write" the name "Lovesick"... my nephews logo with the chocolate... it came out to "blob" like.
3. For someone who does things WAY ahead, I should have done the transfer 2 weeks ahead, then when I did not like the outcome, ( as with this ) could have re did it.
Ahhh lessons learned.
June, that chocolate transfer sure looks tricky. You are one brave lady.
Very interesting
great idea
I did take a picture to post Katy of the actual drawing right beside the cake, but they both came out blurry. So most people would wonder what the heck this is. The "Lovesick" at the bottomjust didn't come out right. Oh well. At the hall I did put the paper drawing beside the cake so people knew the significance. Caillin, my nephew, was very happy, so that's all that matters. He was the one to please.
Really great idea June and a lovely colour scheme. Lucky boy, sounds yummy!
