I just wanted to let you know that although my Spongebob took a long time to do, he was a success! Thanks again for all of your help!

I did have some issues with grease but that's why I put the sand..lol..I guess you could use blue b/c and make it wavy to look like water. Yes I would def. wrap the gumpaste or fondant around wire for the legs, if you want them to be up like mine. For the hat I used a real party hat opened it up, traced it on the fondant then put the hat back together then wrapped the fondant around the hat and let it dry. Make sure you put PS or plastice wrap on the paper hat so the fondant doesn't stick. He was a fun cake to make I was so fun to see him come to life..let me know if you need any other help :)

Wrapping paper huh?! No problems with grease spots from the frosting? When you did the legs, did you wrap the gumpaste over a wire of some sort or just let them dry over something? How did you do your hat? Sorry for all of the questions, but all of the other Spongebob cakes haven't been as good, or they aren't willing to share any tips! Thank you for your time, I really appreciate any help you can give!

Hi, thank you! I just used blue wrapping paper to cover the board and the "sand" is brown sugar. The legs and arms are made from gumpaste. HTH

Great job on Spongebob! I am making one for my daughter's birthday in a few weeks and I'm really nervous! I have a couple questions for you. What did you use to cover your board? I'm pretty new at this and the only thing I have used is the fanci foil, but would love a little more color and choice. Also what did you use for his legs?
