It is a professional grade of gum paste that can be rolled exceptionally thin, best used for delicate flowers. I have not used it for sculpting I(too expensive), but I think regular gum paste would be better for models. I prefer modeling chocolate for modeling. This is my most recent Platinum Paste project. I don't know if you can see how thin the petals are, but you can read through them. I ordered it from Avenues Sweet Choices, Etc. www.avenueschoices.com
platinum paste :) ??? Going to check it out :) Never heard of it. Is is similar to pastillage??
Bonnie, I made this with the Wilton recipe for gum paste, since it was one of my first ever pieces. It is not as workable as Nicholas Lodge's recipe or Platinum Paste, but it holds up a lot better.
Thank you so much, Maffy!
He'd be a lump only on my dining room table, 5 French doors surround it, with no curtains, letting in all the nice sunshine... lol Great in the winter, no so nice in the summer.
wow... it's beautiful !!
Thanks, Bonnie! I was happy with this little guy, too. The lady for whom he was made still has him setting on her dining room table.
...Though the birds DID come close!
SHHHH...Sandra, don't tell anyone, but this is my most favorite of all!!!! Don't think you will ever outdo this guy...:o)
Thank you again. I will look. :)
