Scarlet Macaw Cake
Scarlet Macaw Cake with most of flowers added...less macaws, of course. Thinking of adding a couple more birds of paradise to the left side and three small orchids on the front right corner. Not yet decided.

I love gum paste flowers, Betty, so it is hard for me not to over do. There are several more that were intended for this cake, but I actually believe it looks better without them and am trying to restrain myself. Thanks, again, for your encouraging words.

The flowers are beautiful but don't cover up to much of the nice carvings you created. They add such a nice touch to the over-all theme.

Thank you, Betty! I have been doing just that today...watching how-to cake decorating videos. I may add a couple of Birds of Paradise and leaves to the left side (haven't decided), but that is about all the additional work I intend to do.
Isn't it funny, without the flowers this is about the ugliest cake ever :o)

I certainly plan to use the macaws (after all, they represent 6 weeks of my life :o) if they make it in one piece. It just feels good to have a backup plan.
