Retro Surfer Cake

A retro surf cake to celebrate twins Mike and Mary's 40th birthday. It's vanilla cake with fresh strawberry filling and vanilla buttercream. The surf boards and #40 were made from gumpaste The surfboards are hand painted to give the woodgrain effect. The "sand" was created using crushed pecan sandy cookies. The entire cake was airbrushed to give the sunset feel.
