rainbow cake

I was wanting to do one of these for a long time and finally found my occasion. I made a basic vanilla cake recipe and separated it into 6 equal parts, I then dyed each a different color of the rainbow. I baked each in a 6" cake pan. I repeated the same process with a batch of vanilla buttercream, separating it and dying it, then spreading on the coordinating tiers.
