Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I posted this just to prove that I have been making cakes, even if they aren't very pretty :o) This is a chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream filling, frosted with vanilla / almond buttercream. It's hard to tell because I squished the frosting with aluminum foil before I made the picture, but I was actually able to get the buttercream pretty smooth!

Thanks, Inoka.  Decorating was pretty much an after thought.  We just needed to eat cake :o)

Thank you, Katy.  It doesn't show a lot, but Betty, I tried to put polkadots on the sides like you do sometimes.  I was marginally successful.

looks lovely - 'squished' or not.  Love your quilled poinsettia, good idea

Thanks, Michael and Goreti!  I will try quilling again one of these days.  It was easy, I just wasn't in the mood.
