The wings, crest and beak are made of cardboard covered in fondant. The head is made of cake. I first tried to do the head, crest and beak in RKT as I thought they would balance each other out, but it kept sliding off the front. I hope your son enjoys it as much as mine did.

My son has requested a pteranadon cake for his birthday.  I found this photo when I was searching for examples online. It looks great! Are the wings made of fondant?  What did you use to make/mold the head?
