Pretty Kitty
By far my favourite cake I have made so far! My daughter puts in her request for her birthday cake every year. This year, for her 8th birthday her request was "A 3D cat sitting down who looks a bit like our cat...and she needs to have a bow, a collar and a bell too".
I didn't think I'd be able to make a realistic looking cat, so I went for the cartoon approach.
The cake stood about a foot in height and was made from 4 separate cakes. Carved and iced in butter icing and fondant icing. Every bit of it is edible except for the whiskers for which I used white craft wire. Didn't turn out quite as I'd pictured it, but still, she liked it!
