Pleats, Draping, and Brooches
This cake was inspired by a wedding dress. Fondant strips were used to create the pleating. A mixture of 50% fondant and 50% gumpaste was used to create the draping that was colored a gun metal gray and pearlized with Super Pearl before application. I then brooched the draping with these beautiful brooches I found on an escapade to Houston last summer. I used a tip #3 for beaded border around base of each layer.

Never mind the first post...I guess I should have looked at this photo first before asking about the close-up. It is truly a beauty.
