Here is a mold I made from Silicon of a peacock. It was taken from a cheap necklace that I'd bought in the sales from New Look fashion store. I think it cost about £1. I used the silicon putty that you mix together and in ten minutes I had my very own peacock mold. In the picture you can see how the sugarpaste (white) came out of the mold (blue)

Thanks very much for that Tracy, there is a hobby craft about 10 minutes away from me which I visit all the time, so that's something else for me to look out for. I will keep you posted as to how I get on, I'm sure if I get stuck when trying it out I could back to you for some help. I appreciate your kindness. Thanks very much. x

Lorraine - its really easy and only took ten minutes to make and the mould was ready to use straight away. If you have a Hobbycraft near you it is probably available off the shelf and is called Siligum. It comes in two pots of putty. One blue & one white. You mix equal quantities together until blended to an even colour and then it's ready to use straight away. I used a hideous purple enamel peacock necklace as I liked the design - so the trick is to look for the detail. Brooches, pendants, keys, thick lace......anything will work. Leave it in the sill ovum putty for 10 mins and then pull gently out. Voila, you have a very inexpensive bespoke mould. I used it for legomen too :)

Hi Tracy, I love the idea of being able to make your own moulds. I only just realised not so long ago that this was possible. The peacock is very nice, a lot of detail in it. I think if I knew how to do this I would make loads of moulds. They are very good.
