This birthday cake was designed for a huge fan of Ralph Lauren Polos. The shirt box on bottom is made out of a 10" square and then I trimmed a little off to get a rectangle shape. It is then covered in fondant. I then applied rice paper on the sides to get the box "look". I used a edible ink printer to print the dark navy blue and RL logo on the rice paper and then applied to the sides of the cake with a gumpaste glue. The "tissue paper" is fondant with tylose powder added. The shirt is a single layer 10" square cake trimmed down and shaped to look more like a folded shirt. The logo on the shirt is traced and cut out of fondant. The collar and button part on the shirt is fondant with tylose powder added. The tag on the shirt was printed on rice paper with our edible ink printer. The letters were made with tappits.
