Ha,ha,ha...Can't remember! I watched Kathy on Sweetwise do it, then I tried it. Now I use the mat to roll everything out on, just not both sheets, only the bottom one....ssoooo, I probably flour it so it won't stick now. lol Then I pick it up using both hands & part of the forearm to lay it over the cake. Never had much luck with doubling it over the rolling pin either. But! I am not a lost cause, I will be brave and try it again, using the greased mat! Thanks !
Did you put some shortening on your mat before placing your fondant?
I already have the mat, tried that a few times without success. It usually tears about the time I am about 3/4 of the way finished. And pulling tight does not seem to help. Guess I just need more practice.
Yes you can, just knead it well. Better to use a fondant mat for covering so that you don't need to roll the fondant around the rolling pin for it might crack. Please watch this : http://sweetwise.com/the-pro-mat.html
Got it! Thanks for the nondairy version, I always use it, just in case my granddaughter gets hold of something I make. lol
Can this be rolled thin for putting on a cake? Most people don't want thick fondant.
I'll send you a message for the fondant recipe.
You have a lot going on here Maria..., and the fondant could not be smoother!
Thanks Sandra and Goreti!!!
