I have used plastic spoons & forks, the back of a Tupperware lid. In the spring & summer I use real leaves. Another good trick is to buy silk flowers & use the leaves that come with them. :o)

Shaira, that is the only veiner tool I have too and it does not stop me.  You would be surprised what I have used as cutters too.  For one rose I did, I used bottle caps of different sizes. I've used the rim of a mug.  You just have to use your imagination.  My husband sometimes asks me why are you saving this.

Yes it is Shaira - depending on the flower you want to make you can use all sorts of different things.  Try a cocktail stick and just gently draw it across your flower paste to make the veins you want to create.  Or a small dessert fork, small skewer etc.  Look around your kitchen and see what you have and let your imagination guide you.  If you want to invest in one good veining tool, which will do a load of things I would recommend this if you can get it - http://www.cakeybake.co.uk/cakeybakeshop/prod_2180164-JEM-Tool-12-P...

I appreciate the support ladies. I actually glued the petals on the cake with RI, since i've no idea with wiring. Lol but ive become more interested in learning how to make flowers. I've very limited tools though. Is it possible to make beautiful flowers without acrylic veiners? I've only the wilton silicon veining pad
