Claire, the Nutcracker King, and the Three-headed Mouse King are modeled using a gumpaste. The base tier is a 16" Chocolate cake covered in fondant to look like a drum. The gift boxes are fondant covered styrofoam. There is a mouse hole in the side of the drum next to the mouse king. The tree is a styrofoam base covered in individual fondant "branches". Each branch is wired and the fondant snipped to represent the needles. The tree has many multi-colored small dragees for ornaments. There are three fondant stars going around the center support post at the top of the tree. The top tier is cake and the base has fondant balls and gems hanging from it. The cake was just under 3 feet 8 inches tall.
