Its a "cake life" . They dont understand it. LOL, look into taking the cake cruise next year to Aruba. Its so much fun. You meet new friends who cant stop talking about cake! LOL, all my friends on my Face Book page are decorators I've met from cake shows and on the cruise.  Check out Cake Cruise.com. Their taking off for Bermuda this month. I'm skipping til next year for the Aruba cruise. The ship has a culinary stage, and class rooms. We have class while the ship is at sail. Were normal tourists when docked at the ports.

Hey Ruby

When I go to the hardware store with my hubby, I find myself scouring the isles looking for decorating "tools".  My son just commented that he couldn't believe I could spend so much time on a cake site. Ha! Ha!

WOW! how creative June. You never know where your inspiration will come from.  I see things in the grocery store sometimes, and say to myself, hey I can use that for so and so. I bought a plastic drain stopper with holes for polka dots when I make fondant ribbons. So, you never know what's laying around! LOL. Thanks for this great tip.

Sure, why not.  I would make them several days before so they will dry.  When I made my first fondant "fixtures" to put on cakes, I didn't anything about gumpaste, so I did just what I said above.

Atually....if truth be told....I wanted to make sure those booties weren't goin no where!!  Client was picking up, so thought I would pipe little dots of decorative border in royal icing to make sure these babies were stuck on top of the cake!!

I like how you put that tiny little boarder around the bottom...it looks like that non-skid stuff they put on slippers! lol

They are so cute June. They really do look knitted. Tx

Well, I am blown away at how soft they look and just like they were actually knitted! Who would have thought.

I am so darn tired since I had that cataract taken off. It just seems like all I have been doing is running and running.
