Burlap is hairy to begin with and I didn't want fibers all over the cake :(

Thanks for the tip, Becky.  I've always wondered how you could use a fabric like this and not have it stick to the cake.  It sure is pretty.

Thank you! I first lined the burlap with packing tape to make it easier to place. Put wax paper between packing tape and cake.

Rustic and pretty. I was wondering the same thing Sandra. If there was wax paper or fondant between the burlap and the cake.
