Hey Barbarann,

I don't have much expertise in sculpting.  This is my first attempt at a car.  So i'm not sure what would be easier....so i'm trying to figure out some tips and that.  Any advice??

it really depends on your own level of expertise ... are you good at sculpting cake? are you good at sculpting cereal treat?  how much experiance do you have with sculpting  either? I would have preffered doing a sculpted car cake but decided to use the rice cereal but it was a time issue. with rice cereal it isnt as precarious-in my opinion...

for poured sugar it is ideal to use Isomalt.. i didnt have isomalt on hand (as stated.. it was a last minute cake! there was no time to order isomalt ) and  it can be a pretty  involved process!

Hi there...

I will be making my first car cake in January...did you find it easier working with rice crispies to mould the car or would it be easier to bake and sculpt the car?

And how do you do poured sugar? looks nice....

thanks!!
