Maby I need to try it again .If i had a circle cutter the same size at the towers , to cut places for the towers to slip in would also help and it might look cool. My towers were heavy too. This was my first try with fondant .Could have rolled it thinner.I did use piping gel as glue to stick the fondant on. I am so addicted to this site.I can be on non stop!

I've never used white chocolate to stick things before. Mine for this cake were crazy heavy once I got the fondant on them and the fondant on the conical top. I'd be afraid to try drilling into that plastic. I guess it might work, but I'd be afraid they would shatter. I used just a real thick royal icing and kind of leaned them against the square part of the cake. Once that stuff dries, it's like cement. I even made a princess one once that I had to transport across town. I only lost one tower on the way and it was easily stuck back in place.

I have the Wilton set but wished I was brave enough to drill holes in the towers to stake the towers in place. They just wouldn't stand in place. Maby the fondant made mine too heavy?I did use a large dolop of white chocolate to adhere my towers to the cake board and icing along the sides of the towers.

It's the Wilton's Romantic Castle Cake Set, so it's plastic towers covered in fondant. I attached them with a big dollop of royal icing to a piece of plywood covered with foil. You can't use a flexible cake board or they'll pop right off when the royal icing is dry if you have to move it. I love that set.
