The 3rd of the 3, 3layer, 6" cakes. I had crumb coated this cake, waiting to decorate it with my granddaughter Jordan. So when she came, we decided to just leave it as is, airbrush a little background for a canvas, so Jordan could paint on it. And she did! For a 4 3/4 yr. old, she did an excellent job. This is buttercream after all, not fondant.

Bonnie, like Goreti I was so impressed with this cake that I called Mike to check it out....before I realized Jordan did the painting! This is incredible!! You may have to put a paint brush in her hands and a canvas in front of her. Give her a hug and a great big "you go girl" from me :o) Congratulations on the swimming under water and the reading, too. She is an amazing little girl.
Afternoon ladies! Jordan & I have been reading all of the lovely compliments! Thanks so much! She took this one home with her, of course, and no one has wanted to cut into it(YET)! lol They were also the recipients of one of the other cakes, the one with the single flower on top, and that one they have been eating, with that extra rich chocolate bottom layer being the all time favorite all around! lol Gwen said it tasted like fudge! lol 2 of the kids from next door came over to play, they ALL washed their hands & proceeded to make cake pops out of all the leftover tops of all 3 cakes! They are in the freezer, we have covered about half with white chocolate, and will do the rest in dark chocolate as soon as they get set up again. And you can just imagine exactly how kiddie 'round' the cake-pops will be! lol I might even put up a pic or 2! lol The kids are dipping & covering them also, and so far only 2 have fallen off the stick, which were promptly disposed of in like fashion! {:o)))
Well done Jordan - I love that they show the interest!
She did a great job Bonnie...I know you're having as much fun as she is watching all her achievements as she grows. She's lucky to have a "mommom" like you.:))
Wow, very impressive for one so young.
Thanks Hon, I will be sure to tell her. She is coming back tomorrow. AND, she swam underwater today for 12 feet without coming up! So proud of ALL the things she has accomplished lately! {:o)) Did I tell you that she has read the entire Dick & Jane book collection about 3 times now??? Proud mommom! She will start Kindergarten in Sept.
Wow, I was so impressed with this when I thought you did it never mind a child. It looks wonderful.
And when I say 'crumb coated', it was just a scant coating at best. You can see the cake layers showing through in many places. After she finished painting, I did a little touch-up smoothing with the paper towel method, trying not to mess up her master piece. {:o)
She was being as careful as can be, not to push too hard on the paintbrush, so as not to damage the cake (too much)! lol She did ALL of the hand painting, to include the stems/grass, flowers, birds, & clouds.
