Wonderful Dia!!!! I think the MMF is so much better too! Perhaps you might want to try putting chocolate in the MMF (or a portion like I did) for the wonderful taste of Chocolate Marshmallow!!!! Yummy! I was able to split my one recipe in 3rds and do chocolate and then two different colors. I figured I'm new at this and if it doesn't turn out, try again. It worked just fine. I will look on your page to see if you placed a picture of your In-law's 40th Anniversary. So Happy Everything Worked Out Well.

I made the MMF for my in-laws 40th anniversary cake and it was amazing! Sooo much better than the store bought stuff! Plus, it's a lot cheaper to make, too! I coloured some brown for the ribbons. I found it a little harder to colour but then I read that I should have put the colour into the melted marshmellow stage?! That seems like it would be easier to get the colour in but not easier to separate just a bit. Anyhoo, the cake turned out really well and my in-laws were so impressed!

Great JOB on your first Fondant Cake!
You will love the MMF and if you can find Sherry's recipe and the instructions, that is easy and perfect! Yes, you do want it to sit over night. I've only used Sherry Qualls' recipe and I love it! I even colored it and then my second time I did chocolate. I received compliments on the delicious taste!!!! I promise, you won't be disappointed.

Nice Job Dia !!!

For your weekend cake, I agree with Terry, you will want to put some Tylose powder in the fondant..or all your efforts might wilt and that would be heartbreaking after all that work. Also, FYI if you get the chance to make the MMF...it is yummy and there are a few recipes on youtube..very simple. Keep in mind, you need to make atleast a day ahead of time..and MMF has a tendency to stretches a little more than reg.fondant so go slow with it..also it does not set up as hard as fondant, but still worth making :) Good luck and would like to see a pic! :)
