June, you're starting to sound like a Brit!  lol  I love ice tea, just never had any hot while growing up, and now, well, I'm a little long in the tooth to be changing that one! lol  I have only had problems torting the 6" cakes 1 time, so consider myself lucky!  I seem to favor BC over fondant, for a cake that I am going to be eating! lol
