Right you are, my good friend Betty!  Chocolate adds it's own take to things, such as 'all things good'! lol  You should know if ANYONE does!  You have made so many, and you know that if it looks good, but does not taste good, then it is NOT a good cake.  I am learning that too!

We are not formal here, so what if the writing is a little, or a lot, off?? lol  We did the snow first, instead of the message, not a good idea!   Now the only spot on the cake that is not a nice rounded edge, is showing up, oh so nicely... lol

Thank you both!!  Yes, we simply MUST make his birthday cake every year, it is after all, his BD that we are all (supposed to be) celebrating!  I love it when the chocolate buttercream actually looks like chocolate.  I just keep adding cocoa, the less sweet, the better I like it anyway.
