I know - I've been MIA.  Yes, busy.  Going into my slow season.   So I'll be bored and trolling the net.  LOL.

Thanks Dawn. Boy, I haven't seen you on for awhile. You must be pretty busy.

I didn't catch this when you originally posted it.  Awesome!!  I'm using it for inspiration on a cake I'm doing this week.

Absolutely! You can be the first one who will have a tutorial on the Suess characters! Now that you know what you need to do, plan well in advance before starting and I will keep my eyes open for a great tutorial made by you! Can't wait to see what you come up with. =O)

That is really an excellent tutorial.  I appreciate all of the tips.  Sadly, I haven't yet been able to find anyone who made a tutorial on any of the characters.  There are many cake examples & a few figures, but not quite what I am seeking.  I guess that means I should take lots of pictures so there will be one!

Laney, have you done a google search for the characters done as a tutorial? You might search the videos on whichever search engine you use to see if someone out there has made a tutorial on Dr. Seuss figures. I have a tutorial on a turkey that may give you some pointers on making figures but it won't help with the actual figures you are wanting to make. But it will show you how I put my figures together. I haven't done much on my blog spot but intend to later on in the year. Here is the link if you want to visit it. It might give you some ideas. http://cccbylinda.blogspot.com/

That's exactly how I feel!  I use a mix as well.  I'm considering doing Dr. Seuss characters for my son's first birthday, but I don't even know where to begin!  I'm very impressed with your work.

Thank you Laney. I never thought I would enjoy making characters, but after playing with them they are kind of fun! I used a mix of the two. It just seems to dry quicker and harden up better.

Did you use fondant or a gumpaste/fondant mix?

Linda, your characters are AMAZING!  I love the detail.
