Hi Meera. The head is made out of cake and i cooked it in a half circle shape pan. It is then covered in white sugar paste and then a very thin second layer of black sugar paste. The reason I do that is it gives a lovely smooth finish. Wait for the white layer to set a bit before doing the second. Also black sugar paste doesn't taste as nice :-). For the ears I used black flower paste (gum paste). I rolled it out to about 4 mm thick and then cut round a 6 inch cake pan. Once the ears have dried they will be very hard so you can push them straight into the head without the need for additional support. I hope this makes sense I will hopefully do a few tutorials soon.
