Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

This cake was done for a friend's birthday. She's a diva and rocks it! I started out with a sheet cake that was stacked to get an appropriate height for the box. Then I rolled out white fondant and black fondant. The black fondant was cut into strips and applied to the white to create a zebra effect. The sides of the box were measured and the fondant cut to the exact measurement. These pieces were place in the freezer to allow them to harden but not dry. Once they were ready, each was applied to the sides of the cake. Then the pink was rolled out, measured and applied to the top creating the top of the box. The shoe was made from gum paste a few days earlier so that it could dry. The label inside the shoe was printed on edible paper and applied to the shoe. The pearls are rolled fondant strung on dental floss to look like pearls and the crown was made from fondant and sprayed silver. The other jems are poured sugar.
