Awesome!
For now, Nancy is only planning to cover the front & sides of the cake with the gummies, but I bet she will make more & cover all of it! lol She is making the tiny ones too.
I have a GummyGel recipe also, if you are interested. Though it is a lot more complicated than most of the recipes I see on here.! lol It is for things you want to KEEP long term, not that will get eaten on next weeks cakes. Though it is good for that also, ask any kid in the neighborhood! In fact, it has the exact same ingredients as my Food Grade Mold recipe, just in different amounts. I flavor EVERYTHING I make, because I can't trust the kids not to eat them. Because it lasts, probably forever lol, it is good for items that will be removed from the cake as a keepsake! I kept quite a few from my first batch, and they are as flexible today as when I made them, and they have not been refrigerated, for test purposes, but have been sitting out on a mat on my work table this entire time. THESE the kids know not to touch! They ate the rest of them. And I don't know why, but I have never had an ant on them! The kids love them, the ants don't. A very good combo.
http://www.cakeswebake.com/photo/food-grade-mold-recipe? The updated version is just below the pic of the green & white string of beads. And the coconut oil can be 1/4 instead of 1/6 tsp., doesn't matter that much, this is a very forgiving recipe.
I used my mold recipe to make the mold for the legos, and it turned out perfect! Whew, one worry down. Now to start making them, we will only need to fill the mold 4 times to make them all! For a double decker 6" & 8" star wars fort! HA! Pics will come later! lol
Oh, woe is me..., I need to make legos to go around a castle cake soon. Hope it looks even a little like this one.
Another fantastic cake, Becky! Your models are adorable ad your fondant flawless.
