Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

Ball was made with 2 cakes baked in a 6' mixing bowl then glued together with buttercream. I covered the ball with white fondant then using a templet I made, used a small rolling blade to mark the outside of the templet to make the stitch lines. Cut out black patches and attached with water. The grass is buttercream and the victory scarf is fondant with crests for the soccor team attached. My soccor player was made with fondant and royal icing hair.

Love this cake. It looks great. I tried to do a ball cake recently.... It didn't work out, not enough mixtures in the 2 halves it looked more like a rugby ball than a football. Lol. But I will refer to your photo to remind me of how it should be done when I try it again.

You got a really round ball out of two cakes - I'm impressed. Fab carving skills & great cake :) x
