Hi All, thanks for the compliments.
Lynne and Tazkera, I covered the cake and made the collar the same day, then the following day I did the rest of the string work. My hands were a bit stiff but that I couldn't cope with, thank God.
Karen, I made the collar on wax wrap, when it was set I very carefully placed it on domino blocks turned sideways. I started with the inside of the cage 1st, then the outside, leaving gaps to remove the dominoes. After all the dominoes were removed, I closed up all the gaps. Inserted the rose last.

OMG!!! SO PRETTY........HOW LONG DID THIS TAKE TO MAKE?!!!!....I make this one of my cake....Not like that of course...after that my fingers was soo sore ....Really great job

I adore stringwork and know how difficult it is to do...this is beautiful!! Love the filigree lace on top! And hailspoting wow....how exactly did you make the cage?
