I made the water out of piping gel mixed with what ever color you want.....I put the buttercream all over the cake first before I decorated it due to I didn't want to use alot of gel / brown sugar....the icing sorta shows through and gives it a ocean / water look cause the gel is clear mixed with royal blue coloring......thank you ~:-)

Yes, you can make the beach with fresh brown sugar or you can use cruched up vanilla wafers. Thank You ~:-)
