One of my daughter's friend LaQuinna, whom we've adopted as family came to me this Friday with a cake she ordered from Walmarts. I've never in my life ever, saw a stacked un-frosted and un-filled cake before. She had in their box a 6" and a 10" stacked cake with no frosting what so ever. She showed me the receipt and it was check to have frosting, she told the clerk she wanted to decorate the cake with her own design, they told her this cake could not be done! So, she said she didn't want anything on it. Literally they gave just that. Laquinna and I worked on her cake for 12 hrs. This is the result. The microphone, #21,piano keys, and rose is made from candy clay. We broke out the Cricut Cake Cutter and cut out Wilton Sugar Sheet letters. There is a music note ribbon attached to top tier. We hope this Blessed her 21st Birthday!

Great job between the two of you Pamela.  Poor kid and thank goodness you were there to help her pick up the pieces.  If I had been her Mum, I'd have gone down to Walmarts and let them have it - hate people taking advantage like that.  Hope she ended up happy.

Oh, I don't blame you!  I am such a smart mouth, even at 21, I would have gotten that cake frosted before I left the store.  What a shame to take advantage of a young woman like that.  I am glad you were there to help her to have an amazing cake!

Thank you Sandra Smiley and Michae CakeDecorating! Sandra I started to take a picture of the naked cake and post it. But I saw the stress on LaQuinna face, her mother was not happy with her for getting the cake from them. She is 21.  I just wished someone from her family went with her, with the receipt she showed me and demanded a frosted 2 tier cake. They charged her $58.00 for that thing!   I mean REALLY!

All because she said "I don't want nothing on it" after having the box check for it to be frosted. She meant decorations! Someone got away with doing very little.  Merry Christmas everyone! Thanks for allowing me to vent.

That is the craziest birthday cake story I've ever heard!  The two of you did a maginifient job, though, Pamela.  This will be a birthday she will remember fondly (thanks to you) for the rest of her life.
