Awww, thank you Timothy.  WOW, thank you for taking the time to describe that wonderful job.  I knew it had to be labor intensive.  I am a "clean freak" myself, so I know what you are talking about.  Everything needs to be clean and organized before and after.  I have been working every single day of this week starting at 6:00 till 11:00 (after my day job) on a wedding cake for tomorrow.  I am exhausted; just to turn around and start on another one on Sunday.

Ohhh, yes, any gumpaste flower can take so much time.  I did 4 large daisies and 16 medium ones for tomorrow's wedding cake.  I started about two weeks ago and I just finished painting them last night.  The thing is that I made them with fondant, I want the kids to eat them...so I did not use gumpaste...it was a heck of a job..lol

I think your stuff is AMAZING Sandra!!!

Time... lol...? Good question.... I try to start by "making the flowers first"... tooth pick roses are "time consuming" the bigger ones. not so bad... if I start by 6:00 at night, I'm normally done by 10:00 or 10:30 at the latest with a 15 min. kitchen clean( I'm a germ freak...) Cake time...? about 2 1/2 hours... I beat my cakes extra, extra long (sometimes 20 min)... I like the consistency when there finished and time to cut... and they ALWAYS taste great! at least so far... decorating and assembly... count on eight to ten hours at least... this one was two days for me (that's just decorating and assembling, not including flowers and making cake.) Plus, I still have "stupid guy" things to work out... like forgetting to pick important items at the grocery store or cake supply shop... that ALWAYS gets in my way of progress... (that eight to ten hours could be more like ten to twelve... depending on my "day" and how "cautious" I'm being... the more careful, the better the work AND the more time consuming...)  It's a give and take kind of thing... So 4 plus 2 1/2 plus (lets say) 10= 16 1/2...?

That's close... gum past flowers can also be very time consuming...

Just a "work in progress"... Me (not the cake... she's way gone... only to be remembered through photographs.) but thanks Katy!
