Pressure is relative. In decorating, mostly once you've built a clientele, you call the shots. You can be as busy as you choose to be. But it will take long hours, commitment and a certain amount of hussel to get your business, well any business for that matter, off the ground. If your prepared, your family supports you....especially your husband, who will most likely be a right arm, then I say when your ready....go for it...

Thank you. June, my full time job is to manage a printroom, which means deadlines and loads of pressure every day, (with 2 children and caking at night). So I'm very ready to leave some pressure behind! Even if people here think Im crazy to consider leaving my job to bake cakes! :) Thanks for the marketing tips, Im definitly targeting wedding expos next. But I still have lots to learn and looking forward to.

Well not me...I did cakes part time when I worked, and many said to go full time decorating when I retired. Nope, after 25+ years...didn't want another career. Too me, too stressful to do full time decorating...I don't work well under pressure. Plus I had to get a license through my city health dept. Lot of rules & regulations....AND $$$....keeping it fun & just a hobby...
Best way to drum up business is to attend wedding shows...anywhere to display your work.....advertise,advertise,advertise. Your a very talented decorator ....would be nice for you.....

Something all us amateurs have dreamed of Rhea.  Hope you make it, you certainly have the talent.
