This 3D Bear is for my sister, Lynn's, birthday tomorrow. She gave me this pan and I have been dying to try it out. The cake is vanilla pound cake and the frosting is chocolate buttercream. The bow is fondant.

That's a good idea to try and widen the holes a little Betty, thanks.  I always find they get blocked so easily

Brillant, Betty!  My husband actually asked me if I could get a tip with bigger holes but I've never seen one.  By golly, tomorrow it is the ice pick for the grass tip!  Thanks!  And thanks for the suggestion to use the ice packs.  I have them frozen, but it never entered my mind to use one.  Once again, I kiss your ring, Queen Betty!

Sandra... It helps if you make the holes a little larger (that's what I did). I used a nail or anything with a sharp point and widen them just a LITTLE....It helps to fill 2 bags. Those freezer ice "packs" with a towel over them to lay piping bag on to keep it cool helps also.

LOL, Katy - I can use it as an excuse for my crappy typing!

Sandra - that grass tip is the hardest thing ever to keep going with.  Takes forever and everyone gets broken fingers, you're not on your own!

FYI - I don't see how anyone decorates with a piping bag for very long.  It took me almost four hours to put the fur on this bear (stop laughing, Betty!) and I can "barely" :o) move my fingers and wrists today.  As you can see, my frosting got too warm from the heat of my hands, but I knew if I stopped to allow it to cool off, I would be unable to finish.  My hat is off to all of you pipers!
