I used paste colours mixed with isopropyl alcohol or vodka, I don't have proper airbrush colours. Confectioners glaze is also called edible lacquer and can be in a spray can to use neat or in a bottle which can be thinned with glaze thinner and used for dipping or airbrushes. It is used to make a shiny coat on edible items such as sugar leaves and flowers. It is slightly honey coloured if used thickly on white items but usually doesn't change darker colours. It also smells like nail varnish remover when wet but is completely edible and safe.

hi, awesome cake!!! i need to do something like this for a friends birthday and i was wondering about a few things... first when you airbrushed it you add the alcohol to your airbrush color?  then what is confectioners glaze and how do you use it?
