Cake Decorating Community - Cakes We Bake

I designed this cake for a wedding, this is a hexagon with a monogram emblem. the topper made of gumpaste lillies and ranuculus flowers mimiced the brides flowers. The board at the base was embossed with a lilly print and the words (I DO )were added an painted with a gold luster. The whole cake was then dusted with mother of pearl luster and an irredescent disco luster, then steammed.

Oh ya.... Like Katy said..... Stress city. We are lucky we have husbands that will help us set up... So thankful for that.
I buy my fondant from a cake supply warehouse about 45 min from me in outside TO.
The reason I go their Monica is because it is their brand AND it is made with white chocolate.
Totally freezeable & fridge safe. :0)

i thought about it june, but it was way too heavy to lift (you know about my back problems) and hubby's back isnot the greatest either, this cake was especially heavy because it was a rasberry fruit filled with white chocolate shavings. so i thought it would be best to set up there. i doweled it there also, im glad i did it that way because the pot holes were crazy

thanks katy, i was so worried about the cake sweeting because sunday was 97degrees with a heat index of 102, i had pearl dusted and steammed the cake the night before(which was 104degrees) and put them in the frige, ( i know, fondant in the frige is a no no) but this time i used a 60/40 white chocolate and fondant mix, believe it or not, it didnt sweat.  In transport, which was an hour away from my house in the back of the suv (with the back air on of course), i got to the venue and had my fingers crossed the whole time, i lifted the boxes and no sweating, it was perfect, it took an hour to set up and i gave it another glance as i left (because i was in amazement) and it was dry.  So from now on iam using the 60/40 to cover all my cakes, especially wedding.

Tried to message you Monica, but my IPod wouldn't co-operate! Did you set the cake up at the hall, or dowel it & transport it as a whole?
